Brooke's new obsession (partly created by me) is that everything is a "mess". I painted her toenails the other day, and once I got done, she looks down at her toes and says "A Mess". I kept telling her that her toes were pretty and that they looked like mommy's toes, but every few minutes, she would look down at her toes and proclaim that they were a mess.
I gave her the first bath since the painting of the toenails this evening. I washed her hair, washed her arms, her belly, and then her legs. When I got to her toes, she looks at me and says "Mommy, all gone". She repeated herself several times while pointing at her toes. I finally realized that she wanted "the mess" on her toes all gone. I again told her that her toes were pretty, and that it doesn't go away.
Whenever anything is dirty or out of order, she looks at it and says that it's "A Mess". It was really cute for a while, but now it's becoming a nuisance. We were playing with water balloons earlier this evening and when one busted on the concrete, she was mad because it was a mess. I sure hope I am not creating a child who is obsessed with cleanliness. Although, maybe I can teach her to clean the house. Hmmm.....
