Aunt Paige and John were kind enough to come over and babysit last night so Jeremy and I could go out to dinner to celebrate our sixth wedding anniversary. I gave Paige instructions for the evening. It was bath night, which usually occurs around 7:45 at night, followed by bedtime at 8:30. We left around 7:15 for our dinner.
Shortly after we left, the power went out due to a storm. Paige, John, and Brooke played outside after the rain came through. They were hoping that the power would return shortly. Since it did not, Paige sent me a text asking if she should still give Brooke a bath even though the power was out, and since my phone was on silent and in my purse on the floor, I did not respond.
I came home for the evening to find that the power was still out. I asked Paige if she was able to give Brooke a bath before the power went out. She said no, but she said that she set up a flashlight and gave Brooke a bath by flashlight. I was cracking up. Apparently, when I give a Dellis instructions, they are followed! Thanks to Aunt Paige and John for giving little Brooke a bath by flashlight and enduring the boringness that follows after a power outage.
