So, it's official. Brooke has learned to ride a bike without training wheels. I am so proud of her! She has been practicing in our driveway for just a few weeks, and has ventured onto the sidewalk and can ride up and down the sidewalk for a while without losing her balance.
I can't believe my baby is growing up!
'Tis the season for birthdays. Taylor turned four, Brooke turned seven, and Carter will be six in about a week. We had a great party for the kids. Back in September, Taylor had a My Little Pony Theme. Last weekend we had a party for Brooke and Carter. Brooke's theme was Monster High, and Carter's was Clash of Clans/Star Wars. They got lots of great presents, and we are truly blessed with a great network of family and friends.
I know that I normally don't post about me or Brian. But, I have to say....I am a very lucky girl. Last week, Brian surprised me with tickets to see Dirty Dancing at the Kentucky Center for the Arts. I have seen that movie about 6,000 times, and was ecstatic to see it as a musical. Brian was a champ, and suffered through the entire thing without falling asleep :)

Skating party
So we took the kids to their first skating party for Norton last night. Man, was that an adventure! Brooke had some friends there and wanted to skate with them, so I let her venture off on her own, watching from the other side of the rink. That child spent more time on the ground than she did standing up. But, I was so proud of her. She got up every single time and tried again. She wanted to keep up with her friends. She wanted to have fun. The dedication that girl showed last night amazed me.
This was Carters first time skating. He did pretty well and liked to stay on the carpet where it wasn't as slippery. He did get out onto the rink quite a few times. He took it nice and slow, and spent the least amount of time on the ground.
Taylor. Well, Taylor was Taylor. She wanted to be out in the middle of all the action with the rest of the skating party kids. I have to say, I was impressed. She could barely stand up when I was holding her hands when she was skating. But once she got the skate guard, she took off. Half way around the rink before I could catch up to her. She did great! She could make it all the way around the rink without falling...and she was quick.
After it was all said and done, Brian and I were exhausted, but the kids had a blast. I would call last night a success for all of us.

Three years?!? Whaaaaat??
So, it's been about three years since I have last posted. Man, have things changed.
I couldn't bring myself to read a lot of the posts....yet. I can't wait to go back and read all of the things I wrote about Brooke and Taylor. But, to be perfectly honest, it's going to be hard going back to read the other memories. Not that I miss them, but that they were such a big part of my life back then....and now that part of my life is gone. Just gone. Again, not saying that like it's a bad thing...it's just...different. I love my life today, and am completely and utterly happy and wouldn't have changed a thing.
I thought about changing this blog's name, and maybe I will. I have no idea who subscribes, who has looked for this BlogSpot, or who will ever come across this. I am writing this for the kids....and now I have a new child to add to this. A wonderful five year old step-son. More on that later.
I did read the last post. And most of it was true. I said that I would be writing more on the blog, but obviously that has not happened. Here's my second attempt at doing it again :) What I did write about the kids, and being the best mother I could be, was entirely true. I really wish I would have kept this blog up, but a lot of things stopped me from doing it. Again, all personal. Now that my new life has begun, I feel like I can pick this blog back up and use it as a place to document all the things about the THREE kids. A place for them to look back on, a place for them to read when they get older.
So....moving on to today. It's three days before Taylor's FOURTH birthday. I wrote in the last couple posts about having to watch out for Taylor....man, was I right. She is a spitfire, and I wouldn't change her for anything. That child makes me laugh, and will make me go gray at the same time. She has officially had a concussion - completely knocked unconscious about a year ago. Scarred the living heck out of me. Immediately took her to the hospital....was probably the scariest day of my life. Now, we are dealing with a really deep cut in between her toes that she got from our recent trip to Nick's parents lakehouse. She ran up the boat ladder, and cut herself between her toes. It's pretty nasty. Anyway....more about our general life.
So three years ago when I wrote the last blog post, I had moved into my house on Hickory Cove. It was a good house. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms - ranch. The girls had their own room, and my bedroom was on the other side of the house. Nice fenced in back yard, with a two car garage. Needed no work whatsoever.
Mine and Brian's relationship continued to grow. Wait, what? Brian? Brian who? I have never once mentioned Brian in a previous blog post....for a reason. I wasn't sure where we were going to end up. I didn't want to put it out on the internet for all the world to see, not knowing where we would end up. Well, guess where we ended up? Married!!!!!! We got married on 9/21/14 - almost a year ago. And even a lot has happened since that point. We moved into a small condo - the five of us - in a two bedroom, two bath condo. It was so much better than I ever thought it would be. The kids were fantastic in that place. We moved into that condo because we decided to build a house. I still can't believe that I actually pulled the trigger and built a house. But, this house....it's more than I ever imagined. More than I ever dreamed of. It's beautiful inside and out. And the people who fill it and make it home are even more beautiful.
Let's start with Brian. He's hard to put into words. The feelings I have for him are hard to put into words. The only thing I can use to describe our relationship is passion. We love with passion, we fight with passion, we raise our kids with passion. I am so very truly thankful for him. He knows me better than I know myself. Scary at times, yes, but ultimately, the best.
Moving onto me. Not much has changed with me. Growing stronger and more confident every day. For better or worse ;) But coming back to the person I was - the person I was truly meant to be.
Now....Brooke. Man, she's tall. Really tall. She definitely has her father's genes. She still looks just like him - no doubt about that. She is almost seven years old, and has lost seven teeth. She is currently in first grade and is in Mrs. Davis' class. She took her first test yesterday and scored 100% on 18 questions. I am sooooo proud of her! It's crazy that they are taking multiple choice/fill in the blank questions in the first grade. She has a best friend that she has had since kindergarten - Brenleigh. They are really attached at the hip. Brenleigh is a sweet kid too, so I approve of this friendship ;) Brooke's reading has really come a long way. She needs to learn a little bit of confidence, but she's really doing great. She is trying to learn how to ride a bike without training wheels, and is doing okay. She's going to start playing soccer with Cecily soon - I think she will have fun....as long as she can concentrate on playing the game, rather than playing with Cecily :). Brooke is still my thoughtful, loving, motherly little girl. She is a great big sister to both Taylor and Carter.
Wait. Who? Carter? Carter is my five year old step-son. He has such an incredible imagination - always has - from the day I met him. I was always amazed by that. He is such a smart five year old. He's doing division and multiplication. He just gets math....and is so like his dad in that way. He is also attending Norton with Brooke and is in Mrs. Galle's class - with 49 other students. It was a little bit of a hard transition for him for the first two weeks....new school....big classroom....new friends. But, now that he's been in there for a month, he's doing great. Probably a tad bored, since he did the same thing last year at Vanguard, but he's taking it in stride, and doing very well. Currently, he is in to clash of clans - big time. Like obsessive....again, just like his father :)
Taylor. Hmmmmm.....it's hard to describe Taylor. She's smart, but pretends not to be. She has a ton of common sense. That child will be the first one to know that I am being sarcastic. She's wild. She will still climb up to the roof if I let her. She has no fear. I don't know where that came from. I worry all the time. I don't think that child has a worry in her. She's going to be my problem child....I said this from day one, and I still think that's true. She will be a lot of fun to watch growing up, figuring out who she is and what she will become. She's the wildcard of the bunch, and I absolutely love that about her.
Miscellaneous stuff.....we have a cat named Mia who is a year old, and a dog named Stella, who is a golden retriever who is almost 9 months old. She was born on Christmas Eve 2014.
I think that's all for now. I am going to TRY....TRY is the key word here.....to update much more regularly now that life has settled down into a wonderful life....and for that, I am thankful.

Long time...big changes.
It's been a long time since I have posted, and the main reason is because of so many personal things going on in my life, I didn't want my blog post to be run by my emotions. I wanted to write with a clear mind. After all this time, I don't know if my mind will ever be clear after what has happened over the last few months. But, I am not going to let that stop me from creating beautiful memories for my children. This blog, after all, is about them...dedicating their memories. So, time to start new. Time to start blogging again.
So, today's post isn't going to dwell on what has happened in the past. Today's post is meant to be a new beginning...a new life for me and my two beautiful little girls. So, if anyone is out there reading this - know that this blog will continue. Just as my life will. Just as my girls life will. Our lives will continue with love and happiness. I will make sure to provide that for them.
So...lets talk about Brooke for a second. She is getting to be a little lady. She is still my little girly girl who fights me about what she wants to wear. She still loves dresses and skirts, but hates to have her hair brushed. She is in love with Doc McStuffins from the Disney channel. She says she wants to be a doctor when she grows up. She is adjusting fairly well to all the changes in her life. She has a pretty bad case of separation anxiety, and I am trying my best to ease her fears. She lights up my life and makes me smile every single day. Her imagination is blooming, and I love to watch her play. She loves doing school work right now. So we play school at home. She can write her own name all by herself. There are so many hopes and dreams I have for this little girl...but most of all, I want her to be happy...every day of the rest of her life. I know that's unrealistic, but isn't that every parents dream for their children? I love watching her personality continue to develop, and I want to help mold and shape her...in ways that neither of us know we are doing.
Lets move on to Taylor...my little monkey. She is continuing to keep me on my toes. That child has three speeds: fast, faster, and sleeping. She is so much fun and smiles all the time. She loves her mommy and won't go to anyone else when mommy is around. She likes almost all food, and is a good eater, but not like Brooke was at that age. Taylor is almost running, she climbs up and down on all the furniture. I swear, she would climb on top of the roof if I would let her. She's still not talking much...well, really at all. But she loves to read picture books. She will point at a picture and I will say the word. She can do this for twenty minutes at a time. She makes doggy sounds, and says 'dat' when she wants to know what something is. She follows direction pretty well, and loves taking her socks off. One of my favorite things she does is when I am going to put her socks on, she lifts up one foot...and I can tell its difficult for her, but it's the cutest thing in the world to me. Taylor wants to do everything that Brooke does. They do play pretty well together, but Taylor is definitely the bully of the two girls. Taylor is going to be a feisty one - future boyfriends watch out!
Expect some much more regular posts from me. I want to make shorter posts about cute things they say and do. I am looking forward to sharing my new life with you.
In the meantime, say a little prayer for us. Pray that I can be the best mom I can for those two little girls. Pray that those two little girls will overcome the cards that life has dealt them in the last year, and evolve into two beautiful women.

New Things!!
Lots of new things since last post!!
Taylor has eaten carrots and will be starting squash tonight! So exciting ;)
Taylor's first day of school is today. That makes mommy a little sad, but I know it's a better thing for everyone. It will provide Taylor some time to play with friends and get acclamated to new people. She's really starting to have stranger danger, and I am hoping that daycare will help with that.
Another thing of guilt that I have been dealing with - is the thought of stopping breastfeeding. My goal was to do it for six months...which I have - she's not exclusively breast fed, but at least she still gets it. But now, my supply is so low that I am just thinking about stopping...plus, with her two teeth coming in - I think it may just be a wiser choice!
Brooke started soccer this past weekend, and did great! She was really aggressive with the ball and wanted to be right in the thick of things. She scored a goal for the opposing team and two for her team!! Way to go, Brooke! I think she had a pretty good time playing soccer as well.
Brooke has also had a few temper tantrums with me lately. I think it's because she is seeing other three year olds throw them, and she wants to test the waters with me - to see if she will get away with it. I stood my ground - although it was very hard, and I was fighting back the tears - but I refused to let her win. She hasn't thrown a temper tantrum with me since.
Brooke is also having daycare changes. She will now being going the same days as Taylor...just two days a week. I think she will adjust and do just fine with that.

March Madness
Well, not only is March Mad because of the NCAA tourney, but it's also mad because of all the new things going on!!
Let's see...where to start...
Brooke has officially started gymnastics again with her cousins Cecily and Ava. She has also started soccer. We had soccer orientation on Sunday, and it was a little hectic. I am not sure how one coach is going to get six little three year olds to all listen to one direction at one time. It's going to be an interesting...but very cute season.
I have also learned that I am a helicopter parent. I need to lay off Brooke a little bit and let her explore. She was outside playing with her little friend, Mary, yesterday and I was a nervous wreck. I was talking to the neighbors and she was playing on the sidewalk. I couldn't take my eyes off her - I didn't want her to cross the street...even though our street is a cul-de-sac and very little traffic travels down our way. We have tried to teach her that she is to look both ways before crossing the street, and that she has to hold Mommy's or Daddy's hand while crossing. I want to give her a little more independence as far as playing in the court is concerned, but I also want to make sure she is safe at all times. She also needs to learn the rules of playing. While I was talking to the neighbors last night, Brooke asked if Mary could come inside and play. I told Brooke that Mary had to ask her parents. They said yes. Brooke failed to inform me that they were going inside the house....but I was watching her move the whole time. She ran from Mary's house straight into our house. After she got there, I came in and had a little talk with her. I am just so afraid that she's going to wander outside with Mary one time and I won't know where she is. This parenting stuff is pretty hard :)
Taylor...well, Taylor turned six months old and had her check-up. She was 15.5 pounds and 26 inches long with her head circumference at 17 inches. That equates to: 31%, 48%, and 64%. She has already had peas and green beans and two little teeth are popping through right now. She's been a champ about sleeping - all the way through the night no problems at all...knock on wood. These two little girls are growing up so fast....I love it and hate it all at the same time.

February Updates
Well, it's been a little while since I have posted - so I figured tonight is as good as any to post.
My little three year old baby girl is getting to be so big...I am trying to challenge her attitude of "I can't do it by myself" and encourage her to at least try. Sometimes it's much easier for me just to jump in and do it for her, but I think she needs to learn to do things on her own - like getting dressed in the morning. Once she accomplishes a goal, she is so proud of herself - but getting her to like the idea of doing something on her own is a very hard task. I hope to continue the trend of having her do things by herself and help her a little along the way.
She got into trouble at school the other day. Her teacher told me that she wasn't sleeping at nap time and when she asked Brooke to please be quiet, Brooke turned around, told her no, and then rolled her eyes. Right after the teacher told me that, I shot Brooke the "Mom" look. And then I thought to myself - oh no, now the teacher knows exactly where Brooke gets her dirty looks from. I admit - I am the queen of dirty looks....I do it without knowing I am doing it....and I hate it!!
Brooke still loves to help out as a big sister. Taylor is really lucky to have her.
We signed Brooke up for both soccer and gymnastics this upcoming term. She will be playing soccer on Sundays and doing gymnastics on Saturdays. I think she's going to love soccer!
I had to let Taylor cry it out the other night..she has been waking up in the middle of the night and wanting to sleep with me. I finally decided that she needed to sleep in her own bed all night long and decided that we would start last Friday. She cried it out for an hour and a half. I went up there every ten minutes during this hour and a half to comfort her for a minute. She finally fell asleep and has been sleeping through the night ever since. I am very glad...we are both getting a better night's sleep because of it.
Taylor is also starting to crawl. She has the army crawling down pat and can go across the room in no time...she's been doing that for a few weeks now. She is starting to get up on her knees and try to crawl. It's truly amazing...she's not even sitting up all the way by herself for long periods of time!
Ms. Taylor also has two teeth that are SOOOO close to popping through - they just won't poke thru the gums!!! I can't wait until they do.
I will update later this month to talk about Taylor eating baby food, crawling updates, and Brooke playing soccer and gymnastics!! I am so glad summer is coming so that we can go outside and play! I am ready for warm weather and excited about the time change this weekend.
Stranger Danger
So, Taylor has developed "Stranger Danger" over the last week or so. We had some people over for the Superbowl, and Taylor hasn't see them in quite some time. Dana went to hold her, and she immediately started to cry. She wasn't sure who had her, and she was scared. It just amazes me that Taylor has already developed stranger danger, and I hate to say it - but it's so cute. She gets this quivering lip, and this look in her eyes, and then she starts to cry the cutest little cry. I am hoping that she will get over that pretty quickly.
There was also another funny story about Brooke...but I cant remember right now what it is...I am sure it will come to me and I can post about it.

Cute things
Taylor started cereal about a week ago...she didn't do so well at first, which is to be expected. She kept pushing it out of her mouth with her tongue, but she's getting the hang of it now.
Before Taylor was going to eat her cereal one night last week, Brooke turns around and said that we need to say our prayers. Normally she will say: God is good, God is great, Let us thank Him for our food. Amen. Well, on this night she said: God is good, God is great, let us thank Him for our Cereal. Amen. So stinking cute!!
Taylor has been a rolling machine...she rolls from here to there and everywhere in between...mostly in search of something on the ground for her to play with. Babyproofing the house begins.....NOW! That's going to be fun to do with a three year old around the house who constantly is dropping stickers on the floor...or lalaloopsy pieces...or hair barettes. This is going to get fun :)
Brooke has been having nightmares for whatever reason recently. She keeps talking about ghosts in her room. Jeremy and I keep telling her that there is no such thing as ghosts, that they are just make believe...but I think Scooby Doo tells her otherwise. No more scooby and shaggy for her!

Taylor is four whole months old!
I took Taylor to the doctor for her four month check up earlier this week. Doctor said that she is doing great. Her coordination is fantastic, she should pop a tooth through within the next month, and her growth rate is perfect. Taylor is 13 pounds, 6.5 ounces and is 25 1/8 inches long. She's in the 35% for weight and 75% for height. Her head circumference was around 75% as well. I am so proud of my little Taylor tot. She's sleeping through the night more, but it's still hit or miss. Last night she woke up at 1:30 am and wanted to use me as a pacifier. Then I finally put her back down at 4:00 and she fell asleep and didnt wake back up until 7:30 this morning.
Dr. Church said that Taylor didn't need to start rice cereal yet. I was really looking forward to that - but I guess I will follow doctors orders and wait a little bit to start. He said it's my call if I feel she is getting hungry at night. So, we may be starting that before too long.
Brooke is still a great big sister - Taylor thinks the world of her. I really love watching the two of them together...and it's just going to get even more fun. The other day, I was putting Taylor down to play, and Brooke said she will help put taylor in the "appetizer" - she was referring to the "exersaucer" but couldn't remember the word. It was too cute!

Christmas and New Year
Christmas was very busy as usual. We ran around like chicken with our heads cut off....but it was so worth it. Worth it to see family...worth it to see Brooke's eyes light up when she opened presents...worth it to have one more reason to smile. Brooke's favorite presents were Disney Princess Dollhouse, Talking Belle, and Lalaloopsy. I know that next year will be even better - watching her eyes get big when she realizes that Santa has come again.
For New Years Eve, we celebrated with dinner at KT's and then did a countdown with Brooke at 9:00 pm. She had some sparkling Grape Juice, and although she didn't like it too much, she wanted to keep drinking it because it was special. We blew noisemakers, drank sparkling juice, and said Happy New Year at 9:00. It was very neat for us to do.
Right before NYE, I lost my wallet at Walmart. Could not find it anywhere. Tried Customer Service to no avail. So, I called the bank and canceled all my cards. Brooke was asking me why I lost my wallet - so I told her that it was an accident. She started to sing: Oh where, Oh where is Mommy's wallet? Oh where, Oh where could it be? With it's zipper and a million dollars, oh where, oh where could it be. I cracked up! Mommy wishes she had a million dollars in her wallet. Everytime Brooke loses something, we walk around and sing that song. We always give two attributes to the missing item....so, for example, if she lost a doll, we would sing: Oh where, Oh where is Brooke's doll? Oh where, oh where could it be? With it's long blonde hair and pink dress, oh where, oh where could it be? So she picked up on this and sang the song about my wallet. It was too stinking cute.
Not a whole lot new with Taylor these days. She is, of course, getting bigger. The giggles are coming more and more, and she smiles all day long. She is such a happy baby - as was Brooke. Taylor is really starting to play with toys of all kinds. She is very alert and wants to be doing something. I have to say - she's probably going to be my busy body of the bunch. Maybe it was the mountain dew I drank while pregnant?? Who knows. She goes for her 4 month checkup in a week or so, and I can't wait to start her on rice cereal. Well, I take that back, I can wait. I don't want her to grow up so fast. I would love her to stay in each phase 3 times as long as she should. Knowing that this will most likey be my last child, I am spoiling the heck out of her. She is doing better sleeping...but it's still hit or miss. Bath nights tend to be the best for her - I think it makes her sleep more soundly....like last night - slept from 10-8. Not too shabby!

Raisins after dinner and Exersaucer
Funny story about Brooke...it's not going to be nearly as good typing it out, because you have to hear the singy voice that Brooke and I both used. So please, feel free to ask me about it - and I would love to tell you the story in person! The other day, Brooke asked if she could have Raisins. I was cooking dinner, so I told her "Raisins after Dinner, Raisins after Dinner"...now this is the singy voice I was using. She then asked if she could have fruit snacks...so I said "Fruit snacks after dinner, fruit snacks after dinner" (again, in my singy voice). A little bit later, I opened the freezer to get something out for dinner and Brooke saw the ice cream. She looks at me and sings: "Ice Cream for Dinner, Ice Cream for Dinner". I laughed hysterically and gave Brooke the biggest hug and kiss. It was one of the most adorable things she had ever done!
I put Taylor in the Exersaucer for the first time the other day, and she did great! She held her head up, she played, she smiled. Brooke was very good with her too - she was showing Taylor how to play with things. It amazes me how Taylor played in the Exersaucer compared to how Brooke did at this age. Brooke just sat there while I pressed things. Taylor actually presses the buttons - and she really means to. Brooke didn't mean to press the buttons until she was like 5 months old or something.
I got out the baby book the other day to see when Brooke started laughing. She first giggled at 15 weeks. Curious to see when Taylor will laugh the first time - she's 13 weeks now. I can't wait for that day.
Brooke's first tooth came in when she was 23 weeks. Taylor has a little white spot in the bottom gum line - Melanie and Jeremy both swear a tooth will pop through very soon. I am a little skeptical and don't think she's quite ready for that to happen yet. Time will tell who's right.
I can't wait until Christmas and see Brooke's face as she opens up her presents on Christmas morning. I hope Santa Claus brings her all that she wants this Christmas.

Update from the last few weeks
Little Miss Taylor was baptized on the Sunday after Thanksgiving. We were blessed to have Chris, Jenn, Abby, and Lizzie in town to see the event. Chris is Taylor's Godfather and Melanie is her Godmother/Christian Witness since she is not Catholic. I was also very privileged to be Elizabeth's Godmother and witnessed her being baptized. It was a very nice ceremony.
Taylor is getting better at sleeping longer periods of time and her in bed or bassinet. Hopefully we will continue on this track as I go back to work soon. She has also been playing with her hands much more and kicking her legs for fun. It's very cute to watch her play. She is such a happy baby.
Brooke is also getting so much bigger and smarter. She amazes me the things she learns and how fast she learns them. We have been singing songs and she already knows all the words to Rudolph and Frosty. We were doing a shape puzzle the other day, and I thought it would take her a while to get it - but she got it right away. Pretty amazing to watch.

Taylor is 2 months!!
Taylor had her two month doctor appointment earlier this week and everything went great! She weighed 10 pounds and 10 ounces and was 22 3/4 inches long. That's the 24th percentile for weight and 44th percentile for height.
It's funny because Brooke was 6lbs at birth and weighed in at a whopping almost 12lbs - nearly doubling her weight in two months. Taylor was just 7lbs 5 ounces at birth, gaining only 3 pounds 5 ounces in two months. It's amazing the difference in the two girls and their growth in two months.
Taylor got two shots, and cried with each one. It broke my heart that she was in pain, but she did really well the rest of the day - she was very sleepy.
The doctor finally told me to stop co-sleeping with her - so I am going to try to put her in her bed and see if she will sleep in there. It's just so hard...she's just a good little cuddle bug!!

Long time no post...
It seems like I have a hard time finding any time at all to post a new blog entry, but I am trying! Now, if only I can remember the 1,000 things I wanted to share with my readers.
First of all - some cute things Brooke has done recently. Today, her new thing is saying "Seriously, Mom?". I will tell her some fact - like I would like the "B" sticker and she will say "Seriously, Mom?". She gets that from me - I tend to say that a lot.
When I dropped Brooke off the other day at school, her teacher told me that Brooke has some of the best manners out of the whole class. She uses her pleases and thank yous most of the time, and when someone tried to get her attention by using "Hey!", she turns around and says "Hay is for horses". This, she gets, from her Daddy. Jeremy tends to say that a lot!
She is still doing wonderfully with her baby sister. She doesn't give her a ton of attention, but she is not acting out because Taylor is here. Brooke's bedtime routine is also getting a lot better at night. She doesn't call downstairs as much as she used to. Hopefully she is starting to break that habit.
Taylor is doing great as well. She is growing and her cheeks are getting chubbier! Very cute. She is a very happy baby and still, the only time she cries is when she is hungry. She has a few fussy moments here and there, but for the most part - a very happy baby when she is awake. She still sleeps a lot - which is just fine by momma! She is starting to use her voice a little more, but it's still very inconsistent. You can tell she is gaining strength in her legs and her neck and is really doing a good job at tummy time.
Taylor will be baptized on November 27th when Chris and Jenn are in town. We have asked Chris to be the Godfather and Melanie to be the Godmother/Christian Witness. Chris will also be baptising Lizzie Leigh and I am very priviledged to be her Godmother.
I will be going back to work on December 12th and will probably work a total of 3 days during the month of December. It's almost pointless, but I figured it would be a good transition to get out a few days that month. Taylor still has a hard time taking a bottle - she doesn't like it. I am contemplating buying a few different bottles to see if she likes any of those better than the Doctor Brown's bottles.
I guess that's all for now! See you next blog...

Brooke's Bday, 3 year old room, and Taylor updates
Brooke's birthday has came and went. She's officially three years old. My oh my where has the time gone? We had a lovely party with family and friends on the 15th. The theme was owls and I made an owl cake out of cupcakes and then individual owl cupcakes. They were fairly easy to make - just time consuming. She thought they were the coolest things! I thought the party was very fun. Weather was nice, so the kids got to play outside. It was nice to see her interact with boys and girls of all ages and personalities and how she would deal with each person. She got about 1,000 presents too many. The hit of the party was a Jessie costume from Toy Story. It was the pants, the shirt, the hat, and the boots. She stopped opening presents and had to put the costume on immediately. Watching her face and her reaction brought tears to my eyes! We are truly blessed to have such wonderful family and friends.
Brooke has finally moved up to the 3 year old room. Unfortunately, she's not in Ben's room, but she is at least with kids closer to her own age. She has a computer in her new classroom, and I think she will come to love it and probably be able to teach me a thing or two next week! Hopefully she will enjoy school a little more again.
Taylor had her one month appointment on the 12th. She weighed 8lbs, 13.5 ounces and was 21 1/4 inches long. She is doing great! Doc said she was gaining an ounce a day, which is perfect. I went back and looked at Brooke's baby book and saw that she went from 6 pounds at birth to 8lbs 12 oz at one month old. Taylor went from 7 pounds 5 oz at birth to 8lbs 13.5oz at one month old. Brooke gained a whole extra pound during that time. I am curious to see the comparison at two months old.
Taylor still will not sleep in her bassinet. If I lay her down in there, she fusses and whines and moves around until I cuddle with her. From that point on, she sleeps very soundly. I know I am creating awful sleep habits for her and for myself, but I just can't help sleeping with her. She is so sweet and so cozy - I can't put her down.
Three out of the four family members are battling sinus issues. I am not sure how I am the only one who does not have any snot dripping out of my nose. Everyone else is green and yucky...even Taylor. Taylor can produce more boogers and bigger boogers than her mom! It's quite shocking. I feel sorry for the little girl.
Brooke's new thing is asking "Where are we going next?". If I get her dressed, she will ask where she's going. I tell her school, for example. She will then ask where we are going next. I will say home. She will protest and ask if we can go somewhere else - like Grandma and Grandpa's house. I guess she got so used to running around right before Taylor was born, she expects to go somewhere new every day. Whether it be grandma's, aunt patti's, target, or the playground - that girl doesn't want to stay home!
Oh, and terrible twos? Oh no...not at all. Twos are angelic compared to the glimpse I have seen of the threes. Brooke is defiant, she is bossy, and she is very demanding. I feel like I am always saying no and answering the question of "Why". This is the time where she is certainly questioning authority and I just have to make sure that she knows mommy and daddy are boss and that we stick to our guns when we say something. It's just hard sometimes!
Well, that was a very long post...I will try to not make the amount of time between posts so long - but life has been pretty crazy recently.

A few updates
Well, the big news this week - is Taylor smiled a real smile for the first time on Thursday. That means she was just 3 weeks, 4 days old. Brooke was 5 weeks when she first smiled. Taylor has been smiling about once or twice a day since Thursday. The first time she did it, I got really teary eyed. Everytime she smiles, it melts my heart. I absolutely love it! I can't wait until she really smiles at her big sister...I think that will just make me keel over :)
Brooke wanted a special treat after dinner the other night, so I told her that I would give her broccoli. She looked at me and said "Broccoli is not a special treat". So I asked her what broccoli was - and she said that it was dinner. I got a little chuckle out of that. Her facial expressions made this story even better!
Brooke has had some issues going to bed recently. She keeps making excuses to get out of bed...she has to pee...then she has to poop...then she has to blow her nose..then she needs to be covered up. It goes on and on. Not really sure what's going on with her. She also has been waking up in the middle of the night with some sort of problem. Last night, she said that ants were crawling on her. I have no idea where this has come from. Don't know if she dreamt about ants that were crawling all over her or what. Either way, I hope that this stops!
Taylor has been a great baby. She eats, sleeps, and poops. She stays up for about an hour or two a few times a day, but mainly will just sleep! She has been eating pretty well, although she likes to "snack" and then eat again in an hour. Luckily, she doesn't do this as much during the night, but it does continue throughout the day. Oh the joys of a newborn ;)
Very Observant
I put Taylor in the swing earlier today, and she just sat there and watched the mobile go round and round. It's so funny because Brooke never really did that. Not exactly sure what that means about personality differences and such, but I just think it will be cute to watch and see how different the two girls are.

Mommy's First Night Out and Sleeping Patterns
Mommy had her first night out without children last night. I went to Stoney River with work for an end of busy season celebration. It was a nice evening out for a few hours, but I was glad to get back home to my girls.
Taylor slept last night from 9:30 until 3:30 in the morning. It was lovely! But, there is still no ryhme or reason to her sleeping patterns. She sleeps and eats when she wants to. Anywhere from every hour and a half to every 4-5 hours. She is definitely ruling the roost around here right now! But, I don't mind. I love being with that little girl. Actually, I love being with both of my girls!

Tummy time and rolling over
We have been doing Tummy Time every day since we brought Taylor home from the hospital. As soon as Taylor starts to fuss, I end up picking her up. Jeremy, on the other hand, will let her fuss/cry for a bit. This evening, I went to Dairy Queen and Jeremy stayed home with Taylor and put her on her playmat for some good tummy time.
Well, during tummy time this evening - Taylor rolled over from her tummy to her back. Not once. Not twice. But three times!
We are going to be in some serious trouble with this little girl! She is going to be a strong one!
