Cute things

Taylor started cereal about a week ago...she didn't do so well at first, which is to be expected. She kept pushing it out of her mouth with her tongue, but she's getting the hang of it now.

Before Taylor was going to eat her cereal one night last week, Brooke turns around and said that we need to say our prayers. Normally she will say: God is good, God is great, Let us thank Him for our food. Amen. Well, on this night she said: God is good, God is great, let us thank Him for our Cereal. Amen. So stinking cute!!

Taylor has been a rolling machine...she rolls from here to there and everywhere in between...mostly in search of something on the ground for her to play with. Babyproofing the house begins.....NOW! That's going to be fun to do with a three year old around the house who constantly is dropping stickers on the floor...or lalaloopsy pieces...or hair barettes. This is going to get fun :)

Brooke has been having nightmares for whatever reason recently. She keeps talking about ghosts in her room. Jeremy and I keep telling her that there is no such thing as ghosts, that they are just make believe...but I think Scooby Doo tells her otherwise. No more scooby and shaggy for her!

Taylor is four whole months old!

I took Taylor to the doctor for her four month check up earlier this week. Doctor said that she is doing great. Her coordination is fantastic, she should pop a tooth through within the next month, and her growth rate is perfect. Taylor is 13 pounds, 6.5 ounces and is 25 1/8 inches long. She's in the 35% for weight and 75% for height. Her head circumference was around 75% as well. I am so proud of my little Taylor tot. She's sleeping through the night more, but it's still hit or miss. Last night she woke up at 1:30 am and wanted to use me as a pacifier. Then I finally put her back down at 4:00 and she fell asleep and didnt wake back up until 7:30 this morning.

Dr. Church said that Taylor didn't need to start rice cereal yet. I was really looking forward to that - but I guess I will follow doctors orders and wait a little bit to start. He said it's my call if I feel she is getting hungry at night. So, we may be starting that before too long.

Brooke is still a great big sister - Taylor thinks the world of her. I really love watching the two of them together...and it's just going to get even more fun. The other day, I was putting Taylor down to play, and Brooke said she will help put taylor in the "appetizer" - she was referring to the "exersaucer" but couldn't remember the word. It was too cute!

Christmas and New Year

Christmas was very busy as usual. We ran around like chicken with our heads cut off....but it was so worth it. Worth it to see family...worth it to see Brooke's eyes light up when she opened presents...worth it to have one more reason to smile. Brooke's favorite presents were Disney Princess Dollhouse, Talking Belle, and Lalaloopsy. I know that next year will be even better - watching her eyes get big when she realizes that Santa has come again.

For New Years Eve, we celebrated with dinner at KT's and then did a countdown with Brooke at 9:00 pm. She had some sparkling Grape Juice, and although she didn't like it too much, she wanted to keep drinking it because it was special. We blew noisemakers, drank sparkling juice, and said Happy New Year at 9:00. It was very neat for us to do.

Right before NYE, I lost my wallet at Walmart. Could not find it anywhere. Tried Customer Service to no avail. So, I called the bank and canceled all my cards. Brooke was asking me why I lost my wallet - so I told her that it was an accident. She started to sing: Oh where, Oh where is Mommy's wallet? Oh where, Oh where could it be? With it's zipper and a million dollars, oh where, oh where could it be. I cracked up! Mommy wishes she had a million dollars in her wallet. Everytime Brooke loses something, we walk around and sing that song. We always give two attributes to the missing item....so, for example, if she lost a doll, we would sing: Oh where, Oh where is Brooke's doll? Oh where, oh where could it be? With it's long blonde hair and pink dress, oh where, oh where could it be? So she picked up on this and sang the song about my wallet. It was too stinking cute.

Not a whole lot new with Taylor these days. She is, of course, getting bigger. The giggles are coming more and more, and she smiles all day long. She is such a happy baby - as was Brooke. Taylor is really starting to play with toys of all kinds. She is very alert and wants to be doing something. I have to say - she's probably going to be my busy body of the bunch. Maybe it was the mountain dew I drank while pregnant?? Who knows. She goes for her 4 month checkup in a week or so, and I can't wait to start her on rice cereal. Well, I take that back, I can wait. I don't want her to grow up so fast. I would love her to stay in each phase 3 times as long as she should. Knowing that this will most likey be my last child, I am spoiling the heck out of her. She is doing better sleeping...but it's still hit or miss. Bath nights tend to be the best for her - I think it makes her sleep more soundly....like last night - slept from 10-8. Not too shabby!
